I can honestly say that essential oils are amazing! When my baby girl was 4 months old, her and my 3-year-old at the time got the flu. Her fever was through the roof and I was scared, so I took her to the doctor. They did a horrible nasal swab test on both kids to determine that they both contracted 
the flu. The doctor then prescribed Tamiflu. I've always been cautious when it comes to pharmaceuticals, so needless to say I had hesitation about the drug and my gut was telling me not to give that to either child. After leaving the doctor's office, my first stop was the health food store to pick up some immune boosting supplements and homeopathic meds. My husband also had the flu and is immuno-suppressed so he decided to take Tamiflu. Without filling their prescriptions I went home and read the insert that came with my husband's prescription. It said that the drug has not been proven SAFE OR EFFECTIVE on children under the age of 1! I couldn't believe that a doctor would prescribe something for a 4 month old when it hasn't even been proven safe!! It was at that moment I decided that I was going to tackle the flu without the help of Tamiflu. So I ended up using ibuprofen for the fever, colloidal silver and the immune system booster supplement as well as homeopathic meds and a blend of essential oils on both children. The results were amazing! I should preface this with the fact that the symptoms present for my daughter when diagnosed were primarily a high fever (104-105 degrees) and a runny nose. She did not experience any vomiting or digestive upset (at least nothing physical that I could see). My son had a high fever, slight runny nose, and did get sick twice the first day. By the 4th day of sickness for both kids, they were completely better! After the first day though, you would've thought they only had a cold with no serious symptoms present. Not even a cough! Was it the immune booster supplement, colloidal silver, homeopathic medicine, or the oils? I can't say for sure, but I do know that essential oils have powerful immune boosting, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-biotic properties that I am sure played a role in supporting their immune response, especially since my husband, who was taking the Tamiflu did not recover for 10 days!
